IVF Process – Key Steps

  1. Ovarian Stimulation:
Fertility drugs stimulate the ovaries to produce multiple eggs.
  2. Egg Retrieval:
Eggs are collected from the ovaries through a minor procedure using ultrasound guidance.
  3. Fertilization:
Eggs are fertilized with sperm in the lab. Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) may be used for male infertility.
  4. Embryo Culture:
Fertilized eggs (embryos) are monitored for several days for healthy development.
  5. Embryo Transfer:
One or more embryos are placed in the uterus in hopes of implantation.
